Our motto is simple: a good song is worth creating, nurturing, and promoting. There aren't enough great songs around anymore: the music industry needs good songs more than ever! Songwriting is both an art and craft. Songwriters who consistently get published or recorded by others (or by themselves) are not an accident! They have mastered a craft and know how to create hit songs, even with the changing times. Just look at those artists or writers who continue to succeed year-after-year.
Again, it's not a fluke. In fact, in most cases luck has little to do with it, even though hundreds of thousands of creative people are promoting their songs and music throughout the world. You know the old saying: "the cream always rises to the top." Patience and persistency are not luck, either. That's another quality these creative people have in common.
We at Mile High Music Productions value your business and respect each and every one of your creative endeavors. Every talent is unique, every person has different "ears." We acknowledge that. What one person may see as a poor song or weak artist-performer, others may feel differently. Many famous singers, songwriters, and bands only made it because someone with good ears and a keen sense of what's marketable gave them their break. It could be the same for you, so never give up!
ALL STYLES OF MUSIC, AND ALL TYPES OF PEOPLE!
ABOUT FAIRNESS, HONESTY, AND GUARANTEES
.
WHAT WE BELIEVE IN: A COMPANY MOTTO AND VISION
COMPOSER OR LYRICIST? THOSE WHO NEED WRITING PARTNERS
A GOOD SONG IS A GOOD SONG!
Some songs are great the way they are: messing with them would be detrimental. We think we're frank and honest enough to recognize this when it happens from time-to-time. If you send in a song that shoudn't be touched, we'll tell you.
A good song is a good song. Nobody's enhancements--ours or anybody else's--will make a good song out of a poor one. Don't let anyone tell your differently! If the song is "there," it will live on its own merits: then the proper demo will only serve to enhance it!
Mile High Music Productions is a diversified music company devoted to the needs of singers, songwriters, and bands. In time, we hope to include other services for your needs and desires.
We strive to be honest and fair with all our customers. If you're not happy with our finished product, we'll try to make right what's wrong. We do value your return business and want to please you.
In some cases, there's only so much one can do: with poorly written songs; with excessive requests for add-ons or special effects; editing songs that didn't need it to begin with; trying to make vocals sound better if they're not there to begin with; out-of-tune singing on songs sent to us; etc. When we can't do justice for you, we'll tell you so and return your cassette and payment.
Would we ever consider collaborating on a song for those who are lyricists only or who only write melodies but not lyrics? What if you are looking for a collaborator to work with? Our staff has people on board who are very experienced writers and have had many songs (even books) published. But that's another service.
It's something we have thought about, especially with songs that have some of these characteristics: great melodies but weak lyrics; great lyrics but a poor melody ; partial songs that show promise but need completing or revising; etc. Perhaps someday we will offer this service, or maybe we'll serve as a resource for songwriters looking for lyricists or composers: a kind of "referral" service, if you will.
We also are thinking about one day offering publishing services for those who show promise as successful, commercial songwriters. Hopefully, we'll get into that area sometime in the future. If we do, we will never charge anyone to publish a song; nor will we offer to "buy out" your songs for a set price (a "sell out" to you, another tactic of song sharks everywhere).
One thing we are NOT: one of those ripoff companies (also known as "song sharks") who offer to put your words to music for a price. If you sing, write songs, or are an experienced musician, you know that's nonsense.
We're different because we enhance the music you already have created, period . Do you know why some of these companies get a bad name for ripping off sincere, creative people? Because they churn out pre-fabricated music melodies or lyrics and charge trusting, talented people to believe that their songs were created by them with inspiration each and every time. Don't sell your soul to these song sharks: they're not worth it. No legitimate music publisher, producer, record company, or other songwriters want to steal your songs or create them in a factory-style setting. And no legitimate, respected publisher will charge you to "publish" your songs, either. Check it out: you have been warned in advance!
If we can't enhance the songs you already have, then we'll admit it and send you your cassette and payment back with a great big apology. There are always other songs, and we value your return business.
ARE SONGWRITERS BORN OR MADE?
Are songwriters born with their gifts? In some cases, yes. But it can be learned, like any craft. Many successful writers struggled to make it for years, fine-tuning and polishing their skills. When their time finally came around, they were prepared because of their experience.
And it's important to note that professional writers are not often offended by particular songs getting turned down by others in the business. Sometimes, being patient and waiting for the right person, time, and place brings a song to life. Remember, a good song is a good song: it will eventually see the light of day. Once it does, others usually keep it alive by re-recording it, performing, and through airplay.
A WARNING ABOUT FALSE MESSIAHS!
If we can't enhance the songs you already have, then we'll admit it and send you your cassette and payment back with a great big apology. There are always other songs, and we value your return business.
Mile High Music Productions recognizes and respects all styles of music! We will work with any artist or any song. However, we are particularly interested in those songs which have commercial appeal: singles with "hit" potential; good album-type songs; crossover potential; covers by other artists; songs with frequent airplay potential; etc. That's what gets a good writer or artist noticed and promoted.
Usually, album-type songs which are not geared as "singles" are fine, but the artist or writer still needs "breakthrough" commercial songs which have "hit" potential written all over them. These are the types of songs we are especially looking out for (in terms of getting involved to help promote them on your behalf).
